You may have heard of me as Shelby Rain but let me tell you a little bit about the person behind the hair! My name is Maya McPherson and yes! I’m only 26 years young! I first fell in love with hair at an early age watching my older cousin do natural hair (before it was embraced by the Black Community). Not only was I intrigued but I took advantage of the fact that I had 5 sisters at home with all different textures that needed to be nurtured in different ways. Once I became a hair stylist, I knew that was only the beginning of where my talents would take me! 

My passion for hair and seeing women struggling thinking the only option was to use harmful damaging products is why I created Shelby Rain Beauty! A brand that helps educate people of color on different hair textures while providing a clean product everyone can use! Not only are the formulas vegan friendly, but our accessories are everything you need to improve your wash days and manageability! My curiosity for a better and easier process for training hair has helped me put together a quality shampoo line that feeds your scalp the essentials it needs to grow healthy, full, and strong! Shelby Rain Beauty is family friendly! What started out as something for just women we now cater to the entire family.
